A Solar Kit DIY Installation
Recoups Your Up Front Costs
In The Blink Of A Light Switch

By Jim Dunne

Changing times have seen many people rethink their position on the use and suitabilty of solar power energy, and how it can be used in the average home.

The fact that this topic now comes up in conversation at the office water cooler demonstrates how deeply this change in attitude has spread into public awareness.  The scientific evidence of global warming is now irrefutable, and the work of many prominent environmentalists and humanitarians is being recognised at all levels.  Nevertheless, many people who feel that the world's governments are just not responding rapidly enough to this looming environmental catastrohpe are beginning to take matters into their own hands, and seek alternatives to the fossil fuel energy sources that are threatening our planet.

The determination of ordinary people to make a contribution to the prevention of global warming and climate change has been assisted by advances in solar energy technology.  complete systems for generating renewable energy for the home are now available, installation companies have sprung up all over the place, and the affordability and availablity of solar kit components has fuelled this popular movement.

Although governments seem to be dragging their feet in committing various industries to meeting renewable energy targets, in the most part they are very supportive to domestic adopters of solar and wind energy.  generous government rebates are being offered in many countries to give people incentive to make an effort to go green.  A proliferation of small solar installation companies stand ready to take advantage of this situation by making certain that homeowners are aware of the rebates.

What is clear though, is that even with government incentives, the upfront cost can be prohibitive.  Average costs for a commercial solar energy installation in a typical home can easily run over $10,000, with costs of $20,000 or even higher being common.

With an initial expense of this magnitude, the cost of going green might easily represent perhaps 10 years worth of energy costs paid in advance.  As such, this outlay puts the project beyond the financial reach of many people who would otherwise be very keen to make the change.

Thankfully, there is an alternative approach that circumvents this problem  Although quick and convenient, a commercial installation is not necessary, if you are willing to learn a little and create your own solar energy system.  Individual components that make up a solar kit can be purchased for very little cost, and in some cases can be found as discards that cost nothing at all.  all up, you should easily be able to get up and running with a diy solar energy installation for under $200, which is a fraction of the cost for a commercial install.

It's important to understand that you do not have a be a science-head, you don't need to have any pre-existing knowledge of solar electricity, and you don't even have to be a talented DIY enthusiast.  All you need is a willingness to learn, a little time, a few basic tools, and some very easy to follow instructions to take you through the build and installation process.  If you can jump in with enthusiasm, then you can be up and running and generating your own home-grown electricity in the blink of an eye.  All you need to know is where to begin, and which DIY solar kit guide can help you get there.
